Taken on Memorial Weekend 2005 in Glacier National Park. This image was inspired by a William Neill poster that I have seen. This location was also featured in the May 2005 Outdoor Photographer magazine as one of the Top 15 Hot Spots of the Pros, photographed by James Kay. I planned my trip just for this shot in paticular. I arrived in the afternoon, had time to drive up the famous "Going-to-the-Sun" highway and arrived back just after the sun had gone down over the westside mountain. The lack of direct light combined with the right combination of filters and long exposure allows the true, rich colors to come out. No offense to Mr. Kay or Mr. Neill, but I prefer my version. I want to thank both of these fine photographers for inspiring what could be my best image to date!
